DEADLINE: NASW's SciWri24 Community Support Grants for Indigenous Journalists
The National Association of Science Writers (NASW), an organization of 2,400 journalists, authors, editors, producers, public information officers, students and people who write and produce material intended to inform the public about science, health, engineering and technology, is proud to offer two travel grants to support the attendance of Indigenous journalists and communicators at this year’s ScienceWriters annual meeting in Raleigh, N.C., Nov. 8-11, 2024. ScienceWriters2024 (#SciWri24) is an opportunity for Indigenous writers with an interest in writing about science, medicine or the environment to connect with assigning editors, hone their craft, and learn about the latest advances in a wide variety of scientific disciplines.
Grant Details
- Financial Support: Grants of up to $3,000 are available to help cover travel costs, accommodations, caregiving expenses, and more.
- Complimentary Registration: All grant awardees will receive complimentary registration to the ScienceWriters2024 in-person component in Raleigh in November, as well as the ScienceWriters2024 Early Access virtual component in October.
- Complimentary NASW Membership: Awardees also will receive one year of complimentary Professional, Student, or Affiliate membership in the National Association of Science Writers.
