DEADLINE: Collier Award for Ethics in Journalism
The Peter F. Collier Award for Ethics in Journalism recognizes exemplary journalism of the highest standards that is reported and published in the face of ethical challenges.
The Collier Award will recognize excellent work in three categories — student, local and national significance — and will present individual cash awards of up to $15,000. Our first-year judges include: Dean Baquet of The New York Times, Sewell Chan of the Columbia Journalism Review, Gina Chua of Semafor, Lynette Clemetson of Wallace House Center, Kerry Smith of ABC News, Stephen Solomon of First Amendment Watch at New York University and Paul Steiger, founder emeritus of ProPublica.
There is no fee to apply for the Collier Award, and the application process is open to all students and professional journalists.
Submissions are due by December 9, 2024 — extended to Dec 16 at 11:59 PST.
The Ethics and Journalism Initiative is a project of the Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute at New York University.
