Meet SEJ member Faisal Anjum Satti! Faisal is a keen observer of public, political, environmental and cultural affairs. He started his career as a video journalist in the city of Lahore, the hub of politics and culture in Pakistan. Faisal's main interests are human rights, politics, international relations, domestic and international inequality, globalization, power structures and climate change — especially in the less privileged areas of Pakistan. He has been reporting for Associated Press Television News for a decade. As a freelancer, he has covered international environmental news stories and he produces, films and edits his own work, both in English and Urdu. His freelance work has been published on AFP, BBC World TV, BBC Urdu online, RT Times Now and other media outlets of Europe and the U.S. His reporting has been acknowledged by the United Nations International Youth Day Award. Faisal would like to continue feeding his passion for filmmaking within a broadcasting environment.
When asked how SEJ makes his job easier, Faisal said, "I have been an SEJ member since 2019 and SEJ has done a lot for me!
