Meet SEJ member Ayurella Horn-Muller! Ayurella is an award-winning freelance journalist and a correspondent at news and research nonprofit Climate Central. Her work has appeared in The Guardian, NPR, NBC, PBS NewsHour, USA Today and Forbes, among others. In 2021, her reporting with WLRN journalist Jenny Staletovich covering the impacts of sea level rise on affordable housing won the Society of Professional Journalists' Sunshine State Multimedia Feature Award. Ayurella's debut book "Savior of the South," a nonfiction account of kudzu, climate change and cultural symbolism, will be published by Louisiana State University Press in 2023.
