Rupert Murdoch's iPad-only publication The Daily is staring down a federal magistrate in Louisiana who ordered it to remove from the Web video clips of a deposition by former BP CEO Tony Hayward in the Gulf oil spill lawsuit.
The judge, U.S. Magistrate Judge Sally Shushan of the Eastern District of Louisiana, ordered The Daily July 5, 2011, to remove from its site video of the deposition because it had not been published with her permission.
The Daily, on its website, said it had no intention of taking the clips down until it was granted a hearing on its right to publish them.
