15 States Get More Federal Recreational Trails

The National Trails system, already stretching more than 12,500 miles, continues to expand. The Dept. of Interior announced May 25, 2010, the addition of 31 more trails in 15 states, adding 716 miles. The trails can be used for walking, biking, boating, or other recreational purposes this summer, and in some cases year-round.

The trails are in AL, DE, FL, ID, IL, IA, KS, MS, MO, MT, NV, NC, PA, TX, and WA.
