MY-RTK Lets Users Probe Toxic Emissions from Their Smartphones

Go ahead. Grab your iPhone and cruise around the corridor known as "Cancer Alley" southeast of Baton Rouge, La., and see the refineries and chemical plants — with the Toxics Release Inventory in your hand.

You can do that with a new mobile web tool called myRTK — one of a suite of TRI tools available online from EPA.

myRTK lets you thumb in an address or ZIP code and get back a map or list of facilities on your feature phone or smart phone.
