"EPA continues to approve pesticides that have been banned in other countries or identified by its own scientists as possibly causing cancer, a group critical of farm chemicals said.
The Center for Biological Diversity said in a report that EPA approved more than 100 products in 2017 and 2018 that contained ingredients "widely considered to be the most dangerous still in use."
The CBD report highlights what the group called the Trump administration's lax approach to pesticides, and which farm groups say is a more reasoned approach to allowing the safe use of farm chemicals that protect crops and help boost agricultural production. In many cases, the chemicals have already been in use, after extended testing, for years and are undergoing periodic review."
