"Climate Change Enters The Fray In Wis. Senate Race"

"Climate change has emerged in Wisconsin as a wedge issue between Sen. Ron Johnson, the Republican incumbent, and challenger Russ Feingold, who has drawn attention to what he describes as Johnson's anti-science perspective on climate warming.

In an October interview with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel editorial board, details of which were published last week and vetted Monday by PolitiFact Wisconsin, Feingold criticized his opponent for his skeptical views on human-induced warming. He charged that Johnson "doesn't even believe that there's a man-made role in climate change."

Feingold, who served three terms in the Senate before Johnson unseated him in 2010, has built an average 7-point lead in statewide polls. He told the newspaper that climate change "is an issue that was bipartisan before people like Senator Johnson were elected and started saying absolute nonsense about sunspots and other reasons to avoid the issue.""
