"Appropriations: Energy, Enviro Amendments Pile Up For 'Minibus'"

"Lawmakers have proposed dozens of energy and environmental amendments to a House spending package due on the floor this week, which could force votes on topics ranging from climate change to lightbulb efficiency.

The House Rules Committee last evening began wading through more than 300 proposed changes to the 'minibus' package, composed of bills to fund energy and water development programs, the Defense Department, military construction and veterans affairs, and the legislative branch.

The package will also contain $1.6 billion in homeland security funding to build a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border, a Trump administration priority that continues to raise tensions."

George Cahlink reports for E&E Daily July 25, 2017.
