Webcast from the XXth Regular Session of the CEC Council

The Commission for Environmental Cooperation is going to broadcast its council meeting in Mexico live. 

On July 11, join Mexican, Canadian, and US high-level government environment officials for a live, webcast town hall discussion on transportation and the environment as part of the Commission for Environmental Cooperation’s 2013 Council Session.

The webcast will begin broadcasting here as of 12:00 p.m. MDT on July 11, 2013. The interactive, Town Hall portion will begin at 2:30 p.m. MDT. Register at www.cec.org/council2013 to receive a reminder on the morning of July 10.

The officials will be joined live in the room by transportation experts from across North America, including Juan Carlos Camargo, Environment Manager, Wal-Mart México; Diane Gray, President and CEO of CentrePort Canada Inc.; and Katherine Blumberg, Program Director, International Council on Clean Transportation.

The CEC Council Session

The CEC Council Session is taking place in Los Cabos, Mexico this year. Tune in to the webcast earlier from 12:00 p.m. to 12:50 p.m. MDT to hear about plans for the CEC’s work over the next two years, launching trinational efforts to green transportation in North America, tackle climate change and improve air quality, and address waste in trade in North America.

Each year, the Council of the CEC—the federal environment ministers from the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) region—meets to discuss their agenda for environmental cooperation in North America under the North American Agreement on Environmental Cooperation (NAAEC). The Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC) is an intergovernmental organization that supports the cooperative environmental agenda of Canada, Mexico and the United States to green North America's economy, address climate change by promoting a low-carbon economy, and protect its environment and the health of its citizens.
