People’s Climate March
A People’s Climate March is planned for Sunday, September 21st in midtown Manhattan to persuade world leaders attending the UN Climate Summit on September 23rd to support an international agreement to dramatically reduce carbon emissions pollution and to build a future based on greater use of renewable energy and more energy conservation.
Marchers will assemble at Central Park by Columbus Circle and begin the march at 11:30 a.m. at 59th Street and 8th Avenue. The route will go east to 6th Avenue, south to 42nd Street, west to 11th Avenue, and south to 34th Street. The march is expected to be the largest demonstration for climate action in history and has been endorsed by more than 1,000 organizations worldwide.
