Media Law for Journalists
The Media Law Resource Center Institute (the 501(c)(3) affiliate of the MLRC) is putting on a day-long event April 26, 2016 in NYC at the New York Times. The program will cover practical advice for journalists to stay clear of costly libel and privacy suits, navigate the reporter-source relationship, avoid copyright traps, learn about digital law and understand insurance coverage options.
Top media lawyers are volunteering to provide the legal instruction. Editors and writers from Gawker, BuzzFeed, CNN, and the New York Times will be there for a roundtable discussion to share their tips and strategies on career paths and story pitches.
Register and view the panels and editorial rountable here.
Cost: $15, includes lunch.
